About the Encopresis Treatment Clinic
When the Encopresis Clinic at Children's closed in December of 1999, the two nurses who managed the clinic for 5 years established the Encopresis Treatment Center in Seattle. This decision was driven by the knowledge that the Encopresis Clinic was a regional treatment center for this often difficult to manage and complex childhood medical problem. With its closure, the children who suffer from this condition had no where to go to obtain specialized treatment in this region. The nurses, Nancy Glass-Quattrin, RNC, BSN, BCIAC and Melinda Powers, RN, CPN, BA decided to open up a clinic in an effort to continue to offer the same comprehensive treatment that formerly was available only at Children's Hospital. Thus the Encopresis Treatment Center was established in January of 2000 in Seattle. Needing more space, the expanding clinic then relocated to Edmonds in November of 2001 where it remains today. We opened our clinic in an effort to continue to serve the families and children who suffer from this difficult problem.
